Mit Hilfe der TYPO3-Erweiterung in2frontendauthentication lassen sich Frontendbenutzer an Hand einer festen IP-Adresse definieren. Hierbei sind auch ganze IP-Räume (IPv4 und IPv6) einfach konfigurierbar.
Die Universität Ulm nutzt diese Funktion um Mitarbeitende und Studierende im Uni-Netz automatisch Zugriff auf bestimmte Inhalte im TYPO3-Frontend zu geben. Studierende können so also direkt mit für sie relevanten Informationen angesprochen werden.
