The presentation of addresses, persons and other information such as the corresponding function or organizational unit of their own employees is a great challenge for many universities. The TYPO3 extension personal database provides a remedy and is freely available in the basic version.
Personal data can be automatically imported from another source (UnivIS, electronic telephone book, SAP, etc...) and enriched with additional data.

Visitors to their own website require data from employees, such as their office hours, building and room number or simply their e-mail addresses. Often this data already exists in a third party system such as an electronic telephone directory or a UnivIS. However, they must be maintained twice for the website. It is not uncommon for outdated information to quickly appear in one of the systems.
The personal database enables an automatic import of data of individual employees or their organizational units. Furthermore, this data can be enriched with individual information such as pictures or links. By means of a separate module, the editor can determine on which page he wants to display which employees. A global search enables a listing of employees based on various criteria.
