Advice and Support RAK München

Rechtsanwaltskammer München

The Munich Bar Association (Rechtsanwaltskammer München) is one of 28 regional chambers and forms the foundation of self-governance for lawyers. Its statutory duties include, among other things, the admission of lawyers and professional oversight. In addition to supervision, a key focus of its work is the advice and support of its members. The chamber currently has over 24,000 members. As a legally established self-governing organization of the liberal profession, it serves all lawyers whose offices are located within the district of the Munich Higher Regional Court. The chamber is based at the Munich Higher Regional Court (OLG Munich).

Member Directory

One of the core features of the Munich Bar Association’s website is the member directory, which provides a clear listing of all members with a convenient filter function. Member data is maintained in DATEV and automatically imported into the directory.

TYPO3 Upgrade

One of our first tasks was handling the upgrade of TYPO3 from version 6LTS to 8LTS. This included, in addition to the automatic migration of pages and content, the update of various extensions and modules. The goal was an uninterrupted relaunch with a modern, fast, and scalable infrastructure that enables continuous further development. Version control in combination with a continuous integration tool ensures stable development in the future.

In 2021, another upgrade to TYPO3 Version 10 was carried out. The upgrade to Version 13 is scheduled to start in 2025.

Member Area

The Chamber Portal, also known as the member area, provides an interface to the DATEV system, allowing members to log in. In this secure area, they can apply for their lawyer or membership ID, register for continuing education seminars, and submit certificates in accordance with § 15 FAO. An additional interface (PXL Ident) has also been integrated for the issuance process.

Support & Ongoing Development

In addition, as part of an ongoing support agreement, in2code manages the resolution of issues as well as the development of new features and extensions.

For example, the Chamber’s notification system was integrated into the existing TYPO3 environment to minimize future support and maintenance efforts. This ensures that news from the Munich Bar Association is made available to all members in a timely manner, both digitally and, alternatively, as a printed version.
